The KZR Team (front L to R): Nick McNulty, Andy Fleet & Andre Canniere with the 19 strong class of Christmas 2011

Andy Fleet, founder of the KZR Music Rock Sessions in 2008, is passionate about inspiring and encouraging young musicians to continue playing music as they grow rather than giving up due to the wrong kind of tuition or direction. He draws from his own experience - "I grew tired of classical piano as a teenager and would have likely given up had I not found a great rock and jazz teacher who showed me that learning music doesn't have to just be about working through endless grade pieces and scales in isolation but more about understanding chords, harmony, improvising, listening, writing and playing in bands - making new friends!".

There are rock schools around that cater for beginners and teach large unwieldy groups weraing headphones in frantic one hour busts in unsuitable halls but we're very different at KZR Music.
We are a professional organisation providing a top quality band experience using the best venues, equipment and instructors and what sets us apart from other schools is that our students are all serious about their music and must have been been playing their instrument for at least two years. We don't teach how to play an instrument but how to play in a band ... and of course, our bands rehearse in seperate rehearsal rooms for the duration of the course. The social aspect of music is very important to us which is why we run the sessions over two full consecutive days during the holidays and allow for regular 'downtime' to allow the different bands to rest and socialise. Many bands have formed on the back of our sessions and that makes us very proud.

We are fully insured and all our instructors are Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) cleared. Find out more about our courses, meet the KZR instructors, read our latest news or look over some testimonials from our students and their parents. Click here to join our mailing list.
